Research Interests
Richard is a disease modeller based at the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology. His research focuses on identifying drivers linked to spillover of zoonotic diseases to humans and livestock and understanding the maintenance and transmission of zoonotic pathogens in host populations. He has experience of using a range of statistical and mechanistic models to answer applied research questions. These include work on the socio-ecological processes driving zoonotic disease risk in India’s degraded forest ecosystems and identifying factors restricting the foci of tick-borne diseases in the UK.
