In collaboration with the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), the University of Liverpool, the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) and Moredun Research Institute, and, we are hosting a lunchtime webinar with farmers and vets concerning tick-borne diseases in UK farmlands.

This webinar is an initial stakeholder engagement of a new One Health interdisciplinary study entitled “OPTICK: One Health surveillance and management of tick-borne disease threats in a changing environment, aimed at better understanding how changes in land use, climate and agriculture may increase the risk of ticks spreading diseases to humans and animals in the UK. We will work with land managers and vets to jointly develop recommendations for policy and management, to mitigate the threat of tick-borne diseases.

It will be held online via Webinar on Monday 9th October from 12:00-13:00. The session will run for 1 hour and will be informal, with opportunity for questions and discussion.

Our aim is to raise awareness about tick-borne disease issues in UK farmlands and the objectives of the OPTICK project and we will be presenting some of the ways in which people can engage with the project.
